Questions, Answered Plainly

Security, product, pricing,
and the honest caveats.

Your project history is your most sensitive asset, and it’s also what makes Compass work. Here’s exactly how we handle it — and where we’re still building.

Security & Data

Is my project data isolated from other firms?
Yes. Every firm gets its own tenant, and row-level security is enforced on every query. Your projects, actuals, and documents are never visible to another customer and are never pooled into a shared dataset — a claim we've directly tested by attempting cross-firm access ourselves.
Do you use our data to train AI models?
No. Your project data is never used to train models — ours or any third party's. It is retrieved to generate your proposals and nothing else.
Who owns the documents Compass generates?
You do. Your projects, SOWs, budgets, and lessons learned remain your property. We'll provide a full export of your data within 10 business days of cancellation. Once you've confirmed receipt of that export, we'll delete your data within five business days — and if we don't hear back, it's automatically deleted within 30 days either way.
How is data protected in transit and at rest?
All connections use TLS, data is encrypted at rest, and access inside your account is role-based. Every request is logged with the user, organization, and timestamp.
Are you SOC 2 certified?
Not yet — we're pre-SOC 2, and we'd rather say so directly than bury it. We're glad to walk your IT or security team through our architecture, hosting, and data handling, and to complete your security questionnaire. If certification is a hard gate for your firm today, tell us on the call.
Where is our data hosted?
In the US East region (Northern Virginia), across managed cloud infrastructure. Database backups run daily, and every uploaded document is separately, independently backed up to a second cloud provider — verified byte-for-byte identical to the source. We'll share further specifics with your security team on request.

Product & Output

What exactly does Compass generate?
Eight artifacts per opportunity: a Budgetary Estimate, Fixed Price and T&M Statements of Work, Fixed Price and T&M Ordering Documents with Exhibits, a full Proposal, and Fixed Price and T&M Amendments — all generated together, consistent with each other, and grounded in the same calibrated evidence.
How is this different from ChatGPT?
A general model writes plausible language from public training data. Compass retrieves your firm's actual comparable projects and calibrates against real variance — what the work cost, how long it took, and which risks materialized. Every number traces back to a completed engagement.
How accurate are the estimates?
Accuracy scales with how much delivery history you load. Every proposal carries a Confidence Score — a calculated percentage built from your comparables' similarity to the opportunity, how many strong matches were found, and how consistent their actual outcomes were. Every comparable also shows its own similarity score, so your team can see the real basis for the number rather than trust a black box.
Can the AI get something wrong?
Yes — it's AI, and no calibration engine is perfect. That's why every number comes with its full reasoning: which comparables anchored the estimate, why each risk was priced the way it was, and what's driving the timeline. Nothing is a black box. Every fee, date, and section is editable before you download, and we treat human review as a required step, not an optional one — Compass gives your team a strong, evidence-based starting point, not a final answer.
Do we still review the output?
Yes, and you should. Compass gets you to a strong, defensible draft in minutes instead of days — your team still applies judgment before it reaches the client.
Is this built for a specific platform?
No — Compass is platform-agnostic. It's built for the way system integrators actually work, calibrating from your firm's own completed projects regardless of which platform you implement. The comparables, the risk factors, and the pricing logic are all driven by your delivery history, not any single vendor's product.
Can we use our own templates?
Yes. If your firm has its own branded SOW, Ordering Document, or Proposal format, we'll load it during onboarding so every artifact of that type generates using your firm's own template and language — same calibrated content, your own look and feel.

Onboarding & Pricing

How much project history do we need to start?
There's no fixed minimum — Compass works with whatever closed projects you load. Confidence grows with depth: the more completed projects you have of a given implementation type, the stronger and more precise the calibration for that type becomes. The Delivery Hub keeps sharpening every estimate as each new project closes.
How long does onboarding take?
Fast. We help load your historical projects during onboarding — you don't have to clean up years of documents first — and most firms can be generating real proposals within days of getting started.
What does it cost?
Pricing is set per firm based on your size and project volume. The first three signed firms join as founding partners with preferential terms that don't expire and direct influence on the roadmap.
Do you have live customers yet?
Compass is live and we're onboarding our first three firms now. That's precisely the offer: founding partners get founding economics and shape the product, rather than inheriting someone else's roadmap.
What happens in the demo?
We'll load a sample of your firm's historical projects beforehand, then spend fifteen minutes calibrating a real opportunity you're working — not a canned example. You'll see the budget range, the comparables behind it, and the generated SOW, all built from your own delivery history.
